These Terms of Service govern your use of Storytime. By creating an account or using our service, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Storytime ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree to these terms, please don't use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Storytime is designed for parents and guardians to create content for children, not for children to use directly.

2. Account Registration and Security

Account Creation

To use Storytime, you must create an account by providing:

  • A valid email address
  • Your name
  • A secure password

Account Security

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

One Account Per Family

Each account represents one family unit. You may not share your account credentials with others outside your household.

3. Service Plans and Billing

Free Plan

  • 5 stories per month (resets on the 1st of each month)
  • Access to all core features
  • No credit card required

Premium Plan

  • Unlimited story generation
  • Billed monthly at $9.99/month
  • Automatically renews unless cancelled

Payment Terms

  • Payment is processed through Stripe
  • Billing occurs on the same day each month
  • Prices are in USD and may be subject to taxes
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice

Refunds

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for your first Premium subscription payment. After 30 days, all charges are non-refundable. You can cancel at any time to prevent future charges.

Cancellation

You can cancel your Premium subscription at any time from your account settings. You'll retain Premium access until the end of your current billing period, then automatically move to the Free plan.

4. Acceptable Use

You May

  • Create stories for your own children
  • Save and share stories within your family
  • Use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes

You May Not

  • Use the Service for commercial purposes without our written permission
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the Service
  • Share your account with people outside your household
  • Use automated tools or scripts to generate stories in bulk
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Create content that is illegal, harmful, or inappropriate
  • Attempt to overwhelm our servers or disrupt the Service
  • Impersonate others or provide false information

5. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain all rights to the information you provide (child profiles, preferences, etc.). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to use this information solely to provide the Service.

Generated Stories and Illustrations

Stories and illustrations generated through Storytime are owned by you for personal use. However:

  • You may not sell or commercially distribute AI-generated content
  • You may not claim authorship of AI-generated content in a commercial context
  • You may print, share with family, or use for personal purposes

Our Intellectual Property

The Storytime platform, including our website, design, code, and trademarks, is owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our platform without permission.

6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Storytime uses artificial intelligence to generate stories and illustrations. While we strive for quality and appropriateness:

  • AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors or unexpected elements
  • We cannot guarantee that every story will be perfect or meet your expectations
  • Parents should review content before reading to children
  • We continuously improve our AI prompts to ensure high-quality, age-appropriate content

7. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service, but:

  • The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We may experience downtime for maintenance or updates
  • We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
  • We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with notice

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Storytime shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or use, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Storytime and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

By You

You can delete your account at any time from your settings page. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior
  • Fail to pay for Premium services
  • Remain inactive for an extended period (with notice)

Upon termination, your right to use the Service immediately ceases. We'll delete your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes by email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law
